Siren and Shadow Boudoir

is a female-owned and operated business. We were born out of new beginnings, out of a realization that life is short and that change only happens when you take the first step towards becoming the siren you are meant to be. The sexy sea goddess is in all of us and we're fully committed to calling yours forth from the depths.

Have you freed the goddess within you?

When you find her there's a sense of joy and strength, something primal is awakened and you start to remember---"this is who I am".

My name is Nicole and I am the primary Siren (and Photographer) at Siren and Shadow Boudoir. And I'm going to break it down like the hippy that I am.

I'm grateful for my wide hips that birthed my daughters, the way my breasts point straight down to my round scar-stretched belly, the wisdom I've earned and the humor I've never lost. Self-acceptance and thankfulness for our incredible bodies doesn't always come naturally. It took perseverance, a lot of internal work--and my own sessions with wonderful photographers (you know who you are)-- to get here but I no longer feel overwhelming shame society has trained me to feel as a beautiful woman with curves and wonderfully unique flaws and I can help you in your quest to free yourself too. I've been there. And, in truth, sometimes I'm still there--but less so. The key to feeling like you're enough is to always come back to a place of gratitude. It is a blessing---whatever your beliefs-- to be here as you. Everyone has their own burdens to carry and stories to tell. Focus on yours and the rest will fall into place.

“Be thankful for what you have; you’ll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don’t have, you will never, ever have enough.” Oprah Winfrey

I've been a professional photographer since 2010 with a passion for helping people feel seen.

I've been there for births (I've seen it all...) , funerals, hundreds of weddings and many seasons of countless families. I've coaxed thousands of camera-shy people out of their shells. I've worked as an associate for a boudoir studio near San Francisco--and--as a former family advocate I also learned how to facilitate support groups and provide trauma-informed coaching in self-care. Boudoir photo sessions can't take the place of a good therapist, mental health professional, lifecoach or support group but they can be a powerful part of your process for healing and personal growth. More than anything, when you treat yourself with a session and album with me and my all-female team it's an investment in confidence, self-esteem and overall bad-assery (like skydiving but less risky). (Bonus--you can tell your partner --or rationalize internally--that this is all for them, ssssshhhhhhh.)

Our downtown Spokane studio is a beautiful, flexible space and is ideally located.

We have private customizable sets from light and airy to dark and moody---as well as city views and full use of the public areas of the Historic Legion Building, including the columns of our renaissance revival balcony, an industrial indoor fire escape, a shower and gym (for your fitness-focused photos).

While you are waiting for your session reveal or if you're in Spokane just for your session there's plenty to see and do nearby.

We are just down the street from Davenport hotels, independently-owned Auntie's Bookstore, Riverfront Park, Mango Tree Restaurant, across the street from Wiley's Bistro and in the same building as Cease and Desist Book Club, Left Bank Wine Bar, Lord Stanley's, and beautiful, high end Women's Clothing at Cue's Clothing. We also are within walking distance of River Park Square Mall, where you can catch a movie, grab a drink or shop.

On-location Eastern WA and Bay Area Shoots are available to schedule. Please inquire for more information.
